Soybean Oil Solvent Extraction Plant
Solvent Extraction
Conditioned flakes are immersed in solvent (hexane) within a sealed extractor. Solvent dissolves oil from solids, producing miscella (oil+solvent) and solvent-wet meal.

Meal Desolventizing
Wet meal enters DTDC where direct and indirect steam strip residual solvent. Steam vaporizes solvent while drying and cooling meal for safe storage.

Evaporation System
Miscella passes through evaporators where indirect heating vaporizes solvent. Rising film evaporators concentrate miscella, removing most solvent from crude oil.

Solvent Recovery
Solvent vapor from all stages is condensed, cooled, and recovered. Recovered solvent returns to extraction while non-condensable gases pass through mineral oil scrubber for final recovery.
