Sunflower seed pretreatment:
Cleaning
Sunflower seeds pass through screens to remove dust, stones, and metal particles. Magnetic separators extract metal fragments to protect equipment.
Kernel-Hull Separation
Centrifugal impact dehullers crack seeds without damaging kernels. Air streams blow away lightweight hulls, leaving heavy kernels. Unhulled seeds are recycled.
Crushing
Kernels pass through roller mills with precise gap control, flattening into thin flakes (0.3-0.5mm). This ruptures oil cells and maximizes surface area.
Cooking
Flakes undergo controlled steam heating under precise conditions:
Temperature: 100-120°C to coagulate proteins and inactivate enzymes
Moisture: Maintained at 5-6% for optimal pressing preparation
Duration: 40-50 minutes to ensure uniform heat penetration
Heat reduces oil viscosity for better flow during pressing while preserving oil quality.

Sunflower seed press:
Prepressing extracts partial oil using mechanical screw presses. Conditioned sunflower flakes enter the press, where pressure forces oil out, producing crude oil and press cake with 18% residual oil.

Sunflower Seed Oil Solvent Extraction:
1.sunflower seeds cake → Solvent Extraction → Wet meal desolventizing → Cooling → Product meal packing
2.Solvent Extraction → Miscella → Filter → Negative pressure evaporation → Crude oil Solvent
3.Negative pressure evaporation → recovery

Sunflower oil refining:
1. Degumming-using hydration degumming to remove peptic impurities;
2. Deacidification-use chemical or physical methods to remove free fatty acids;
3. Decolorization-use the adsorption of white clay to remove the pigment in the oil and improve the color of the oil;
4. Deodorization-use the difference in the volatility of oil and odor substances to remove odor substances;
5. Dewaxing-It mainly adopts freezing, crystallization or winterization crystallization to remove wax fat in oil by fractional distillation.
