The Vertical Cooker is used in oilseed pretreatment lines prior to mechanical pressing or solvent extraction. It is suitable for continuous processing of soybean, rapeseed, peanut, sunflower seed, cottonseed, sesame, camellia seed, palm kernel, coconut, and other oil-bearing materials.

Working Principle

Flaked materials are fed into the top of the cooker and move downward through multiple conditioning layers under gravity.

Each layer is equipped with steam jacket heating for indirect heat transfer. In the first layer, direct steam injection can be applied for rapid conditioning.

Material is continuously mixed by agitators to ensure uniform heat and moisture distribution. Residence time is controlled by adjustable discharge gates between layers.

The combined action of heat and moisture adjusts material plasticity and prepares it for downstream pressing or solvent extraction.
