Palm Fruit Digester

The Palm Fruit Digester is installed between the thresher and screw press in palm oil milling lines. It is designed for thermal conditioning and mechanical disintegration of sterilized palm fruit prior to pressing. Through controlled heating and mechanical stirring, the digester improves oil cell rupture and prepares homogeneous pulp for efficient pressing.

Process Function

The digester performs two key functions in palm oil extraction:

Mechanical rupture of mesocarp cells to release oil

Thermal conditioning to reduce oil viscosity and improve flowability

This ensures that the material entering the screw press is fully conditioned for efficient oil separation.

Working Principle

Sterilized palm fruit is fed into the vertical digester and processed under continuous mixing and controlled heating.
Multi-level stirring blades continuously break down fruit structure
Indirect steam jacket provides uniform heating
Temperature and residence time are controlled according to fruit maturity and processing conditions
Oil droplets are released from ruptured cells and form a continuous oil phase
The conditioned mash is then discharged to the screw press for mechanical extraction.
